Resistivity & Permeability Testing

As part of concrete condition surveys to critical infrastructure, we often pair half-cell corrosion mapping with electrical resistivity measurement. Where half-cell checks for active corrosion of the steel reinforcing, resistivity looks instead at the porosity of the concrete and therefore provides a good indication of whether free chloride ions are able to pass through the concrete matrix and aid in current flow and ultimately in the corrosion of the steel reinforcing. We can also carry out air and water permeability of a concrete structure if required.
